“What I’m offering to you is an experience of my craft, a study moment in the library of my knowledge.
I will teach you the scores and methods that will equip you with concrete and graspable tools.”
Where: Tictac Art Centre, Brussels, Belgium
When: 9 March – 3 April, full days – Monday to Friday
In this workshop, participants enter a “library” of Martin Kilvady’s movement research.
Martin teaches clear, practical scores and methods designed to sharpen awareness, expand movement vocabulary, and deepen access to feeling. His tools cultivate sensitivity, embodied eloquence, and a rich understanding of body language. Frequent themes include orchestration, full-body melting, range of motion, travelling through asanas, and what he affectionately calls “delicious dancing.”
Improvisation lies at the core of Martin’s work. Since 2005 he has created, trained, and performed almost entirely through improvisational structures—developing a practice known for clarity, precision, and layered nuance.
The workshop is open to all curious movers. No prior dance training is required—only a willingness to explore, to listen to the body, and to engage with your own potential. Martin’s aim is simple: to support participants in discovering, refining, and feeling better within their own movement.
About Martin Kilvady:
Born in 1974 in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia, Martin is a co-founder of Les SlovaKs and has danced with companies and creators such as Rosas, Thomas Hauert, Roberto Olivan, and others. For more than 25 years, he has shared his movement practice internationally, becoming a consistent and influential presence in contemporary dance. Over three decades, he has developed his distinctive movement language, Martins Dancing, shaped through extensive performance experience and continuous research. Teaching emerged naturally from his earliest years as a dancer, driven by an intuitive curiosity to understand, articulate, and transmit his embodied knowledge. Holding an MA in dance pedagogy, Martin blends rigorous study with lived practice, offering a deep, personal, and refined approach to movement.
