Two core modules, Embodied Practice and Investigative Practice, are delivered by Independent Dance, Siobhan Davies Dance and Trinity Laban in the Siobhan Davies Studios, placing them in a professional studio context.
The Embodied Practice module deepens and extends your understanding of your own movement practice, allowing you to consider it within a wide cross-disciplinary framework of enquiry, and give you the opportunity to research your own area of interest.
Building on this, the subsequent Investigative Practice module is an intensive creative project, allowing you to challenge your own making/performing/research through an encounter with the practice and ideas of an artist/choreographer of international significance such as Siobhan Davies, Rosemary Lee, or an international guest. This professional environment allows for intensive and focused somatic, creative, and theoretical inquiry with significant artists and a skilled peer group.
The course can be taken full or part-time, and there is the option to complete the course as an MA or an MFA.
Prospective students in need of financial support can apply for a Gill Clarke Bursary. (http://www.independentdance.co.uk/programmepage/ma/gill-clarke-bursaries/)
