CONTEMPORARY CLASS
/75 minutes dynamic contemporary class. An energetic & dynamic contemporary class to prepare the body and mind towards an intense day of exploration. The class will begin with centre practice, involving exercises to encourage 3D-dimensional use of the upper body while finding stability in the lower body.
The initial centre practice will ground the dancers onto the floor and warm their bodies, allowing them to move freely and take risks in the larger travelling, floorwork, and jump exercises in the second half of class.
CONTEMPORARY PARTNERING
/90 minutes – James and Travis, who have over ten years of experience creating and performing their duet works, will conduct a specialised class focused on contemporary partnering techniques. In this class, participants will learn proper lifting techniques and weight distribution while exploring the intricacies of their partnering work. Dancers will discover how to share weight effectively to partner equally with one another. By channelling the correct energy direction and body placement, they will have the opportunity to explore innovative ways of partnering.
PCK REPERTOIRE
/120 minutes – This is an opportunity for participants to learn repertoire from PCK’s latest choreographic work, “VESSEL.” This piece explores the illusions we mistake for reality, unveiling the shadows inhabiting us and probing the depths of self-perception.In addition to learning the repertoire, participants will be encouraged to develop their own artistic skills and gain new knowledge about PCK’s choreography. This class transcends merely memorising a movement phrase; it will seamlessly combine the complexities of PCK’s movement language and understand the origins of emotional intention embedded within the choreography.
