Liquid Bodies is a dance and material laboratory that explores the symbolic body in dialogue with nature and materials.
Where: El Solapón, Gran Canaria, Spain
When: January 10–11, 2026
Deadline for applications: Until all 15 places are filled
Liquid Bodies is a collective research and creation laboratory connecting body, materials and landscape through dance, ritual, and visual exploration.
Over two days, we will embark on a process of personal and collective discovery, combining somatic and visual practices with an intuitive approach to movement and the natural world. Participants will explore how the moving body constructs and inhabits spaces and materials, using natural fibers such as raw wool as creative starting points.
Morning sessions include meditation, walking, yoga, voice work, and movement training inspired by Bodyweather, Authentic Movement, Partnering, and Contact Improvisation. Afternoon sessions open space for creation, composition, and reflection within the natural environment.
The program integrates healthy vegetarian meals and shared daily life in a sustainable, community-oriented setting.
No previous experience is required—only curiosity, openness, and a desire to engage with dance and the environment as living, creative processes.
Lesley Bohncke — Textile artist and art therapist working with local wool, energy activation, and nature-based creation.
Javier Murugarren — Multidisciplinary artist exploring the intersections of movement, sound, language, and material reuse.
