Kasandra Wedel “Visual Music”
In her workshop, Kassandra Wedel will explore dance with signs with the participants, and what an enrichment this language can be for dance.

Where: Iwanson Schule, Munich, Germany

When: July 27 – August 6 I 9.30 – 11.30 H

Deadline for applications: 26.07.2021

As a dancer, Kassandra Wedel explores sign language, dance, performance, music and silence through her deafness. In her eyes, dancers are not only interpreters of music. A song, a rhythm, it does not necessarily need acoustic music if movements can be music themselves. In her workshop, Kassandra Wedel will explore dance with signs with the participants, and what an enrichment this language can be for dance. How can sign be dance, how can dance be sign? How can you visually tell and dance something so that signs or a hand gesture becomes a whole story or music? Following ones inner music, visual music will be part of this workshop alongside a tactile beat.
