This five day workshop will bring forth skills, tools and practical experience of somatic research, improvisation and composition for students to become more attuned to physical centers and subtleties of touch, direction and intention.

Where: Tictac Art Centre, Brussels, Belgium

When: July 7-11 from 9:00 – 13:00

This five-day workshop offers students tools, skills, and hands-on experience in somatic research, improvisation, and composition to develop sensitivity to physical centers, touch, direction, and intention. Students will explore how to refine their body-mind instrument and deepen their creative practice in theater, voice, and movement.

By learning articulate language to describe states of experience, participants will create maps for sensation and design—serving as blueprints for performance studies and grounding each student’s unique wisdom. With new input to enhance solo awareness, attention, and intention, we will witness ourselves and each other in action.

Students will discover personal strengths, expand choice, develop discernment, and practice embodiment by exploring contradictions in the body and engaging the imagination in ensemble work. The workshop invites volume, new expressive states, and the balance between discipline and freedom, strength and vulnerability—through movement, voice, writing, and drawing.
