The Jerusalem International Solo Dance Festival (JISDF) is Israel’s leading and largest international platform dedicated to contemporary Solo and Duo dance – performance, artistic research, and creation.
Held annually in Jerusalem, JISDF presents a high-profile curated program of selected works by renowned choreographers from around the world, alongside emerging voices, offering artists an exceptional international stage for innovative and personal dance creation.
The festival takes place over one week in some of Jerusalem’s most iconic cultural venues, including the Jerusalem Theater and the Hansen House compound, within the city’s vibrant cultural mile. Performances are presented both on a custom-made open-air stage and in professional indoor theater halls, creating a unique dialogue between urban space, architecture, and contemporary performance.
Beyond its performance program, JISDF operates a central International Residency Program, inviting selected artists to develop new works in Jerusalem as part of the festival framework. The residency offers international artists a supported artistic stay in the city, providing time, space, and professional conditions for research, creation, and exchange, culminating in premieres and work-in-progress showings during the festival.
Led by Angela Dance Company (Israel), JISDF functions as a dynamic international meeting point, hosting choreographers, performers, artistic directors, and curators from around the world. Through performances, co-productions, residencies, discussion panels, and research processes, the festival fosters deep artistic dialogue, long-term collaborations, and cross-cultural exchange. JISDF offers artists an opportunity to engage with a growing global community of dance creators in a high-profile international hub for contemporary dance.
