Registration for the 21st International Solo-Dance-Theatre Festival Stuttgart is open. Competition for contemporary choreographers and young dancers.

Young artists can apply for the 21st International
Solo-Dance-Theatre Festival which is taking place at Stuttgarts TREFFPUNKT Rotebuehlplatz from 16th to 19th March 2017. Competition pieces should be in a contemporary language of movement and an original performance with individual style. The jury will choose 18 artists, who will compete against each other for three prizes in the category choreography and three prizes in the category dance. Two further prizes will be awarded by the audience. Applications can only be made online. International Solo-Dance-Theatre Festival Stuttgart, Germany
EUR 3,500, EUR 2,500 and EUR 1,500. Two further prizes both worth EUR 500, will be awarded by the audience. In addition, there will be a Video Dance Prize in which winners will have the opportunity to produce their own short dance film.
Winners take part in tours in May and November, travelling both within Germany and internationally. The German tour is always kicked off by a gala in Stuttgart’s TREFFPUNKT Rotebuehlplatz. This year’s winners can be seen in the following German cities.

The festival’s trustees will choose 18 competitors from among the online applications received by 11th November. The festival focusses on the promotion of young artists. To this end, competitors should be under 30 years old. The choreographed solo dance pieces submitted should be under a year old and between nine and 12 minutes long.
The choreographer may interpret his or her own piece. Applications can only be made online
