“In Motion” is an immersive project that guides participants into the heart of Fabio Crestale’s creative process and choreographic writing.
It is not only about learning a choreography, but about understanding its language, quality, and intention, and ultimately performing it in a final presentation open to the public.
Daily Structure
The laboratory takes place over three days of intensive work (6–7 hours per day).
Morning
Each day begins with a classical ballet class, structured as in a professional company.
The class will be led by ballet master Maria Pia Di Mauro, with rigorous technical training aimed at preparing the body for the choreographic work and for the physical and interpretative demands of the project.
Afternoon
The work continues with the study, creation, and deepening of a section from the repertoire of the IFunamboli company, under the direction of Fabio Crestale.
Dancers will work with precision on memory, listening, dynamics, movement quality, and spatial awareness, gradually embodying the choreographic writing.
Fabio Crestale’s choreographic language is characterized by intense and organic physicality, the use of weight and release, contrasting dynamics, and movements driven by internal impulses.
His research brings together abstraction and humanity, technique and presence, within an atmosphere of focus, trust, and shared experience.
“In Motion” is an experience designed for dancers who wish to go beyond execution, developing their ability to read, understand, and embody contemporary choreographic writing.
An experience that leaves a lasting imprint — in the body, in the memory, and in one’s way of dancing.
