ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

The IFP Rick Odums is a higher education establishment accredited by the French Ministry of Culture.
Our school provides a range of dance education programs, from fundamental training for beginners to advanced training for developing artists, and delivers a level 5 certification in dance pedagogy (Diplôme d’Etat).

Classes offered at the Institute include classical ballet, jazz, Horton and Graham technique, contemporary dance and various workshops with guest teachers.
Students are assigned a level (1 to 4) in each discipline independently (ballet, jazz and modern), to suit their needs according to their background and help develop their potential in the best possible conditions.

Students may be given the opportunity to perform with one or both of the student dance ensembles : the Jeune Ballet Jazz and the Jeune Ballet Moderne.

Although classes will be taught in French, the majority of our faculty members are either native and non-native English speakers. To this day, we have welcome international students from Belgium, Luxemburg, Germany, Italy, Greece, the Netherlands, Norway and Ukraine, to name a few.

Created and designed by Rick Odums in a close-knit relationship with Alvin Ailey and his celebrated American institution, the IFP Rick Odums has been a remarkable springboard for many generations of students to the Ailey School, the Martha Graham School, and the Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival.
