For their new evening length piece, Hungry Sharks Dance Company are looking for 4-6 performers with a strong stage presence and a versatile skillset in dancing and acting. Everyone regardless of their gender, social and cultural background or age is welcome to apply.

“Destination DCKD”
Following the idea of the simulation hypothesis which reaches across religion, philosophy and
science, suggests that our reality is simulated by a higher power. Within this new production process,
we want to research how the inappropriate versions of ourselves and failed designs of our reality
may look like. These speculations are used as a point of reference and will become the subject of our
investigation.

The production takes place in Austria (Vienna, Salzburg, Carinthia) and Switzerland (Baden).

Please apply only if you are available for the following production dates:
– Residency in Baden/Switzerland from 2nd to 22nd of December 2023
– two rehearsal weeks in April 2024
– one rehearsal week in June and July 2024
– two rehearsal weeks in September 2024
– premiere dates in October 2024

Conditions
The fee you will receive is based on the amount of rehearsal days/shows and follows the
recommended minimum fee standards from the Association of independent performing Arts in

We cover accommodation and travels for the working periods.

We are looking for..
. versatile movers / improvisers / dancers (all styles welcome)
. powerful skills also within voice / acting / physical theater / clown /mime
. strong stage presence and the ability to experiment with your own movement material
. min. 2 years of experience in the field of dance / performance / stage work
. professional working attitude, pro-activeness and ready for intense team work
. comfortable with English in a working environment

. video assignment: Show us your creativity and improvisation skills within using
dance/movement/voice/text/props/music of your choice etc. within the range of these
keywords: NPC – simulation – virtual reality – prototype – epic fail – uncanny valley
(The video should be unedited and not exceed 2 minutes, indoor or outdoor)
. send 1-2 short video links where we can see you dance/perform as well as the video assignment
(YouTube and Vimeo links preferred – unfortunately we can’t download any videos from
WeTransfer, Googledrive etc.)

Audition
The audition will take place in Vienna on 7th and 8th of October. Please let us know if you are
available on both or on one of those days. Unfortunately no expenses can be covered for the
audition purpose. Location and times will be announced with the positive response. The final
decision will be communicated until 13th October.
