In this workshop, Oliver Lefrançois works with movement dynamics in the context of hip hop and contemporary dance.
Who can join?
Professional & pre-professional dancers / high level. Work language English.
Choreographer, dancer, pedagogue, specialist in movement analysis, Olivier Lefrançois meets hip-hop in 1983. In 1988 he founded his first hip-hop dance company “XYZ”.
He was choreographic assistant for Sébastien Lefrançois, Bouba Tchouda Landrille, Bintou Dembélé and Farid Berki. In 2004, he founded his company “Espace des Sens” with which he created many works. During this time, he continues to transmit hip-hop. He teaches functional analysis of the body in danced movement linked with dance composition in Pantin, Bordeaux, Montpellier and in l’École des Sables in Senegal. From 2016 to 2018, he co-writes with the graffiti artist Kalour the performance “Trace”. He joins the company Karma Dance Project where he dances in works from Gigi Caciuleanu, Maiko and Mamoru Hasegawa and co-choreographs Entre d’eux with Alice Valentin. In 2017, Olivier Lefrançois joins the company Mutine for the creation of “Toutes men Lunes”. He participates in the new film from Odile Rouquet with whom he had already collaborated in 2012. Since 2018 he has been part of the pedagogical team of the scholl James Carles, and teaches hip-hop in the conservatory of Grand Chalon.
