Catalyzing the next generation of dance artists, HAVEN is now accepting applications for three different offerings:

Dance Mentorship for Ages 15+ Begins September 8
During this empowering ONLINE ONLINEdance mentorship program, the next generation of dancers will unpack, repurpose, and grow their knowledge in order to stay relevant and shape the future of dance. Beyond technique, repertory, and creation, HAVEN offers collaborative problem-solving, dance literacy, intentional seminars, and one-on-one mentorship. The program will launch with Ching Ching Wong restaging Ihsan Rustem’s Choreography, Boho Ballet with Natalie Leibert and Contemporary with BODYTRAFFIC Artistic Director Lillian Barbeito.

Choreography Mentorship for Ages 18 + Begins October 5
In response to the global pandemic and demand for racial equality, fresh direction around research, creation, and performance has emerged. Through physical practice, guided discussion, and intentional guest speakers, choreographers Alex Ketley and David Maurice will mentor deep and honest personal choreographic investigation. Mentees can choose to participate in a two-month, four-month, or, the full six-month Certificate Program that culminates in an Un-Gala produced by HAVEN.

Wisdom Project for Ages 40+ Begins October 3
The Wisdom Project provides ongoing opportunities designed for dancers ages 50 and over. Each independent process includes movement instruction and the creation or restaging of choreography. This dance melee is designed to eclipse prejudice and discrimination on the grounds of a person’s age with love, acceptance, and reverence of older adults. The Wisdom Project’s first endeavor will be a dance film conceived, directed, and choreographed by James Gregg. Process durations vary based on the choreographer’s vision.
