We encourage applicants with solo and group choreographic interests of their own, to develop their work alongside that of our faculty, within the context of the residency. This can be in the form of work already made, work in progress or research ideas.

We provide:

Evening and weekend rehearsal space
Coaching and mentoring by faculty
Feedback sessions involving participants and local artists
Weekly studio showings of work
Photographic and video documentation
Performance opportunities with local venue partners and the annual gala show at the Jungle Dance Theatre

Western countries benefit from abundant professional training opportunities and an extensive range of dance techniques, methods and styles, whilst those in India have little to choose from. Our programme is a first for India, in that we provide a full range of contemporary dance practices in- line with International institutions. Our pricing and scholarship programme provides a space for all, to train in broad-ranging contemporary dance practices together, irrespective of nationality or economic background.
