Dance in Art (DiA) invites dancers to audition for our DiA Junior Company. Performing 3 new works, following a program designed to foster a realistic appreciation of the professional working environment, encompassing rehearsal and production processes and creating work with choreographers during the period October 4th – December 10th.

DiA’s dancers have the opportunity to refine their technique and improve dance performance capabilities necessary to further themselves in their dance careers. With an emphasis on personal attention and development, the JuniorCompany provides dancers with a better understanding of one’s own creativity and artistry. After the 10 weeks intensive training we will select 3 dancers and 2 interns for our paid project during the season 2023 – 2024.

Working on 3 productions + performing the following:

→ #METOO | premiere of the dance film we created and has won several prices:
Short Film Factory (New York, Boston, New Orleans, Chicago, San Diego and San Francisco) – Award Winner
Paris Play Film festival (Parijs) – Award Winner Best Dance LAFA (Los Angeles) – Award Winner Lady Filmmakers Festival (Beverly Hills) New Renaissance (Amsterdam) Experimental Dance Music Film Festival (Toronto) Frostbite Indie Fest (Colorado).

Dancers will be part of the choreography for the premiere of the film, performance will be November 18th.

→ Suara Hatiku – performance December 9th | the first part of a full evening production that will premiere coming season and will continue as part of the Dance in Art company. Dancers participating in the Junior Company will have the opportunity to be selected for the professional company and start working at Dance in Art during the season 2023 – 2024.

→ A film project combining dance and visual arts, showing at the end of the program.

→ Netherlands Choreography Competition: November 28th – December 10th

DiA alumni can be seen leading or performing with dance companies across Europe, presenting independent work at theatres and arts centres, and also as inspirational teachers and choreographers across the dance industry.
