Festival Dansez Maintenant – Château de Veretz – Summer Intensive 2020, 4º Edition
An enriching week experience in a 19th century Castle: a charming and unique space nestled in nature and history. This summer intensive for professional and pre-professional dancers will combine daily workshops and a creative lab.
Dancers can nurture their creativity thanks to our creative lab: they can improve their dancing and choreographic skills and have their own time to be inspired, relax, and enjoy the magic of the Castel’s space.
During these 6 days, other activities will take place (conferences, performances, etc…).

For this 4th edition of the festival, we have the pleasure of welcoming two very special guests artists:

ROSER LOPEZ ESPINOSA:
www.roserlopez.com

Graduated at MTD / High School of Arts of Amsterdam, she later receives a danceWEB scholarship at Impulstanz in Viena and trains with former Olympic gymnastics trainer Jaume Miró. She has worked with choreographers Àngels Margarit, Cesc Gelabert, Pere Faura, Iago Pericot and filmmaker Isaki Lacuesta in Barcelona, and with Katie Duck and Marta Reig Torres in The Netherlands, among others. Her work as a maker has received international recognition and is regularly present at international stages. In 2017 she created L’estol, a large format piece for the National Dance Production of Catalonia. Invited as a guest choreographer at dance companies such as Skånes Dansteater (Sweden) and Conny Jansen Danst (The Netherlands), she also collaborates with circus companies such as Circ Pànic (Catalonia) and Cie XY (France). She is a resident artist in theater Mercat de les Flors 2018-20 in Barcelona.
Her workshop
This workshop proposes a technical and playful approach to floor-work and partnering tools. Strong physicality, delicacy, complicity and imagination. We will approach movement from the basis of an articulated, soft, agile, fast, versatile and powerful body. Taking advantage of the movement capacity of the spine as a motor for movement, we will go through floor work, with rolls, glides, simple acrobatic movements and jumps. We will do partnering exercises, researching weight transfers, movement projection in space and group mechanics. To awaken the fine-tuning, the awareness and the sense of team.

RONI CHADASH

Roni Chadash (1990) is an Israeli choreographer, performer and teacher. She has been working with several Israeli choreographers, including Maya Brinner, Odelya Kuperberg, Sally Ann-Friedland, Inbal Oshman and many others. Since 2015, Roni has been searching for a particular body language and a philosophical statement that identifies his works and his way of moving. Roni performs constantly around the world and has received numerous awards for his originality, including the Israeli Ministry of Culture’s 2018 Young Choreographers’ Award for Young Choreographers.
Her workshop
The course begins with a warm-up on the floor, which focuses on weight placement, using the extremities and joints of the body as the engine of movement. This is adapted to my own research on the body and its possibilities. We find our way to the standing position by doing more dynamic and fluid exercises, in which I focus on different elements. In these exercises we play with different body qualities and textures to change the way we approach the exercise and the infinite possibilities of the path we take to move. After this we work on a combination letting the dancers break it down with their own interpretations and impulses. This part of the class usually goes very far, physically and emotionally, and for some, it is very therapeutic.
