Director/Choreographer Lanre Malaolu is searching for White female dancers for his next film.

“THE CONVERSATION” explores the challenges black men and women experience when on a date/with a white partner and the conversation surrounding their racial experience needs to be had. Through expressive movement, we follow the journey of a black man and the challenges he encounters through this conversation, time and time again.
Lanre is looking for WHITE FEMALE DANCERS (1 lead, 3 supporting roles and ensemble) with a strong background in hip-hop, contemporary and/or experimental dance. Experience of picking up dynamic choreography, devising and partner work is desirable. Performers are encouraged to have a sense of fearlessness and willingness to push themselves to a bold and visceral emotional place for this project.
Rehearsals/shooting dates to be confirmed but will span from July – mid August.
Lanre’s previous work includes THE CIRCLE, a hybrid dance-documentary film commissioned by the BFI doc society, which will have its world premiere at Sheffield Doc/Fest in June. FIGURE, a multi-award winning dance film Lanre made last year, has screened at film festivals around the world including, Zanzibar, Texas, Toronto, Vancouver and the BAFTA-recognized Aesthetica Film festival. He was the choreographer and movement artist on the British Council film DEAR MR. SHAKESPEARE (Sundance film festival, 2017).
