What happens when movement meets language?
In this 5-day workshop, Davis Freeman invites dancers and performers to go deeper into their physicality by layering it with text, both prepared and spontaneous.

Where: Tictac Art Centre, Brussels, Belgium

When: November 24 – 28 From 14:30 – 17:30

In this evolving workshop, we’ll explore multiple ways to use text in real time — shifting between prepared and spontaneous words to examine what it means to sound, look, and be real on stage (even when lying). Through daily performances, we’ll play with voice and body, using volume, tone, and rhythm to shape meaning.

We’ll work with and without microphones, using lists, games, personal stories, news articles, stand-up, and improvisation to generate material. You’ll build your own texts from personal interests and apply them in daily performances that mix contemporary dance and voice.

This is not a traditional acting class but an exploration of performing with text inside and outside the body — discovering how your words affect you, the audience, and the space.
