Dance Kung Fu : Circles And Lines is a movement residency – Interdisciplinary project week for dancers, choreographers & martial-artists. Expect a week full of contemporary dance and martial arts training, healthy food and the possibility of transformation.

Where: Blipbase, Ladendorf, Austria ( 1 hour from Vienna).

When: 17th June – 23rd June ( welcome to arrive on the 16th ).

Each day begins with yoga, preparing us for the days Kung Fu training,
Sessions will focus on the contact games from the Tai Chi Kung Fu.
Guest teachers will support the training, coming from the Lung Hu Chuan Kung Fu Akademie Vienna.
We will playfully train in intensive explosive workouts, as well as going into Taoistic philosophy.
Contact kung fu partner work will give us greater understanding of self defence (Chuan), as well as our individual boundaries.
Daily contemporary dance labs lead by Emma James (UK), will integrate the kung fu into our personal dance journey.
We will investigate stability and flexibility, developing our perception by focusing on the Tiger (Hu) and the Dragon (Lung) representing movement in circles and lines.

Our nature loving space provides an opportunity for artists to relax, and connect with fellow movers.
