On 27 June, join Dance.Film.Performance (DFP) for a Dance & Camera workshop where dancers and filmmakers work together to explore movement and film. Through guided tasks, participants will experiment with choreography, improvisation, and camera work, creating a short video piece by the end of the session.

Where: London, UK

When: June 27

Deadline for applications: Early Bird Tickets available until 21/06/2026

Join us for a practice-based workshop that combines dance and camera work, culminating in the creation of a short video piece.

Open to dancers, filmmakers, and anyone interested in exploring the relationship between movement and the camera, this hands-on session is built around a series of guided creative tasks designed for both performers and filmmakers.

Together, we will explore:
• Choreographing for the camera
• Directing movement on screen
• Improvisation and live camera work
• Framing, space, and composition
• Performing with camera awareness
• Capturing movement in real time
• Developing material into a short film

Participants will work in pairs or small groups, following the tasks step by step to create their own filmed work.

The workshop focuses on experimentation, collaboration, and learning through practice.

Filmmakers are encouraged to bring their own equipment, though filming on a phone is also welcome.
