Open call for participation: Dance Afrique | Experimental Flow International Workshop (Easter Intensive)
Alesandra Seutin | Vocab Dance with the support of Ecole des Sables brings to you 14 days of immersion in contemporary, urban, traditional & club styles from Africa, its Diaspora and the Caribbean.
Participants from Africa and the world will live together, train daily in amazing open studios with inspiring and excellent teachers; exchange, discover dances, practices and cultures from one another within Ecole des Sables, a beautiful and secured dance centre in the fishing village of Toubab Dialaw, Senegal.
This International Workshop invites dancers, choreographers and teachers working in hip-hop, dancehall, afro-dances, jazz dance, contemporary/hybrid forms, club, social dance and street dance styles to join us in this incredible experience. Participants of all the five continents are welcome to apply.Where: Ecole des Sables in the coastal village Toubab Dialaw, Senegal (40 minutes from Dakar)

Alesandra Seutin | Vocab Dance will bring together Dance Artists from Africa, its Diaspora and the world in Senegal, to train, exchange cultures and experiment with dance vocabularies at Ecole des Sables, Senegal.

Dance Afrique | Experimental Flow will offer dancers, teachers or choreographers a chance to dance, study and experience Urban, Traditional & Contemporary Afro based styles at Ecole des Sables and within the natural environment of Senegal. Daily classes, exchange of different styles and cultures will take place, by being, working, experimenting and dancing in this special place; you will (re) discover yourself both as a dancer and as a human being.

This workshop is for professionals, training dancers, teachers of dance, choreographers, dance artists and people who live for movement from all over the world.

During Dance Afrique | Experimental Flow you will be taking daily classes (6,5 hours) in African Contemporary, House, Senegalese and Ivorian dances; Waackin, Deconstruction of West African Dance (Masterclass), Caribbean dance and open floor sessions, including a class on Saturday morning.

The school was designed as being part of the surroundings. There are bungalows on the school premises. Each accommodates three people. There are showers and there is a WIFI connection. The school has a restaurant where meals are served three times a day. Day of arrival at Ecole des Sables is April 7, day of departure April 20 2019

Includes 7 hours of dance a day, standard shared accommodation in the school bungalows, 3 full meals a day, transfer from and to Dakar Airport.
