The call for the young dance section of Corpo Mobile Festival 2025 – an itinerant choreographic platform that will be held in Rome in Municipality VII, over three weekends in May 2025 – is now open. Each day of the festival will feature a different location, creating unique routes on the urban map of the neighbourhood.
Corpo Mobile is directed by Davide Romeo, with organisational direction by Eleonora Tempesta, in collaboration with the Uscite di Emergenza Dance Company.
This eighth edition of Corpo Mobile aims to foster a dialogue between the body and the urban space we live in daily. The festival charts courses that traverse places with a one-to-one correspondence: theatre and open air, periphery and centre, socially prestigious spaces and communal places. The theatre brings us to life and life returns us to the theatre in a continuous journey.
Through contemporary dance and performance, the concept of ITINERARIES is explored both physically and emotionally, allowing participants and the audience to traverse both tangible and intangible paths.
Definition of Itineraries: Derived from the Latin iter itineris (“route, journey, path”), it refers to the path to be followed to reach a destination, also in a metaphorical sense: setting or establishing the itinerary of a journey; embarking on a spiritual or intellectual voyage. ≈ path, route, journey, or course (for a ship or plane).
FESTIVAL SECTIONS
The festival is structured into various sections:
Corpo in Scena (Body on Stage): theatre performances.
Corpo all’Aperto (Body Outdoors): performances in outdoor urban spaces.
Corpo in Formazione (Body in Training): workshops and labs.
Corpo in Dialogo (Body in Dialogue): meetings and debates.
Corpo in Itinere (Body En Route): call for choreographers and performance artists (the subject of this open call).
Corpo in Video (Body in Video): a section dedicated to video-dance, this year’s novelty.

The same application process applies for Itineraries of Corpo all’Aperto (Site-specific Performances) and Itineraries of Corpo in Video (Videodance Projects).
The Corpo Mobile Festival 2025 calls are exclusively aimed at artists and collectives under the age of 35. Each participant, including all members of any collectives, must be under the age of 35 at the time of application. This choice reflects the festival’s commitment to promoting emerging talent in contemporary dance and supporting new artistic voices capable of offering innovative perspectives.
The festival is open to choreographers, performers, directors, video makers, and collectives who explore movement, dance, and their relationship with urban or theatrical spaces through a creative and research-driven approach.
Costs for participants:
Travel, subsistence, and accommodation costs are the responsibility of the selected artists. Each project must ensure a rapid setup and adaptability to the various locations.
