Choreographic research meeting for young dancers / Dance is in dialogue with Bauhaus architecture.

DThe San Materno Theatre is unique in Europe. It was built in 1928 by the great architect Carl Weidemayer for the dancer Charlotte Bara.
Artistic director Tiziana Arnaboldi, in view of the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus, is organizing a research seminar between bodies and architecture for young dancers between the ages of 18 and 25.
A good level in contemporary dance is required, openness and curiosity in the experimentation between body and architecture, between physical and imaginary spaces.
The participants in the research process, in addition to the choreographer Tiziana Arnaboldi, are the dancers and choreographers Maxime Freixas and Francesco Colaleo, as well as some international personalities from the world of architecture.
The day will focus on the study of contemporary dance, improvisation and choreographic composition. The laboratory will take place in the San Materno Theatre in Ascona (CH).
An open door and various public presentations are planned, both in the Bauhaus-style structure and in other external locations.
The organization provides accommodation in the Bauhaus-style apartments adjoining the theatre.
Meals and travel are the responsibility of the participants. Selected candidates will be notified by 10 April at the latest.

Costs for participants:
The selected candidates can take part in the research course, paying a participation fee of 200 chf; 185 euro.
