Chisenhale Dance Space is looking for a Children’s Classes Assistant – Work Placement. Work with our popular children’s classes on Saturday mornings to assist the instructor and gain work placement hours towards your university course or diploma.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly work placement to assist and support our excellent teacher during the Autumn Term of our weekly children’s classes. Interested parties should have a keen interest in dance, teaching and community arts and be available on Saturday mornings, 9.00am-1.00pm between 5 October and 7 December 2019 (half-term 26 October, no class). Please note it is important that you are able to commit to the whole term.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in teaching children creative dance, to work within an exciting arts organisation and to learn from experienced community dance teachers.

Our Children’s Creative Movement Classes offer a fun introduction to creative movement for different age groups between 2 and 7 years old. The classes concentrate on developing imagination, co-ordination and expression through dance, movement, music and play. We have also added technique classes for ages 8-12, which is outside the scope of the Saturday assistant, but will be happening concurrently in the Research Studio.

Please note, this is a work placement position offered to students already undertaking a dance degree/diploma that requires a work placement as part of the programme. This is a voluntary position; a small contribution to travel expenses will be offered.
