The Learning and Participation Team at the Royal Opera House, in London is looking for a Chance to Dance Assistant to help support the work of the Chance to Dance Practitioner, provide pastoral care and support to students and act as an ambassador for the Chance to Dance Programme.

Chance to Dance (CTD) is the longest-standing flagship programme run by the Royal Opera House`s Learning and Participation department and, since 1991, has been instrumental in introducing approximately 30,000 young people aged between seven and 11 to ballet.
Through working with schools across Thurrock, Lambeth and Southwark, Chance to Dance invites Year 3 children who show particular aptitude or enthusiasm for dance to join the Chance to Dance Company for up to four years where they enjoy regular weekly classes, workshops and performance opportunities, as well as attendance at family events. They have the excitement of working with young choreographers, learning about the repertory of The Royal Ballet and performing alongside Royal Ballet dancers. Some of the graduates of the programme have gone on to vocational schools and professional companies, and all have the wonderful experience of being ignited with a love of dance and appreciation of the art form.
About the role:
As part of the Chance to Dance team, the role of the Assistant will be to provide pastoral care for students and support the Chance to Dance practitioner.
The CTD Assistant will be the main point of contact for parents’ questions and queries. They will act as ambassadors for the Chance to Dance programme promoting its values of good practice and access to ballet and The Royal Opera.
Contract: This role is offered on a casual PAYE basis of £80.00 fee per session (based on a three-hour call that includes holiday pay at an equivalent of 12.1% pro rata). Planning sessions and planning meetings are paid at £15 per hour.
