Deadline for applications: 10th February 2017

The Brighton Dance Network is now in its fourth year and third year of producing the Dance Trail for Brighton Fringe. This year we are taking to the Brighton and Hove border. A place full of history and pride, the border is a physical space but also a metaphysical one.

We are looking for any contemporary dance artist or group who is interested in approaching the theme of boundaries or boarders. The Brighton and Hove border has been subject to some plans to redraw the electoral map without Hove – see for more information – and this has thrown up questions about the growing perceived importance around borders and boundaries the world over. From Trump’s proposed “Great Border Wall” with Mexico, to the ongoing issues in the Middle East and our own borders being subject to change, as plans to leave the EU become a reality. We are also keen in involve artists who are interested in personal boundaries and borders, as well as those interested in simply creating a work borne out of the site.
