Body Weather – Body/Landscape practical workshop

For you?

For artists and students working in performance, dance, sculpture, photography, theatre, visual arts and for roamers and people interested in environment and natural history.

The basic training and point of departure for this workshop, Body Weather, is a comprehensive performance practice that investigates the intersections of bodies and their environments. Bodies are not conceived as fixed entities, but just like the weather, constantly changing through an infinite + complex system of processes occurring in + outside of these bodies. Taking BW outdoors, the aim is to explore + develop consciousness of the body itself being an ever evolving landscape within a greater surrounding landscape.

Programme will include:

MB (mind/body, muscles/bones) dance training; practice of + reflection on physical + mental training; walking, wandering, silent walks, pilgrimage + nocturnal journeys; various modes of experiencing body, movement + landscape; investigating divergent senses of space + time; peripatetic records, drawing, writing; mental topography of a location, myth + genius loci.
