The Belgrade Dance Institute has announced an audition for the enrolment of students in the first year of accredited basic academic studies lasting three years, i.e. six semesters, in the field of artistic dance for the following majors: Ballet Pedagogy, Contemporary Dance, Pedagogy of Contemporary Dance and Choreography. After completing this level of study, the student acquires the title of Dramatic and Audiovisual Artist – Artistic Performance (180 ESPB points).
Entrance exams will be held from June 24th to 26th, 2024, while preparatory classes and consultations will be held from June 17th to 21st, 2024.

Enrolment undergraduate studies
The application deadline is June 12th, 2024.
The receipt of documents is done until June 18th, 2024 at the student service of the faculty.
The ranking list of admitted candidates will be published on July 3, 2024, on the faculty’s website.
Enrolment of candidates who have successfully passed the entrance exam will be done from July 4th to 8th, 2024 at the student service of the faculty.
Entrance Exam
The entrance exam consists of a practical part, a test of general culture and knowledge of the English language.
The practical part of the entrance exam includes the following:
Contemporary dance exam includes floor, center, and improvisation exercises (the Professor assigns the improvisation);
Choreography exam includes a max. three-minute-long choreography with a short description (the candidate can choose whether to perform it himself/herself; provides the music and everything he/she needs for the choreography);
Classical pedagogy candidates need to have completed secondary ballet school education; bar and center exercises, allegro and pointe work exercises;
Contemporary pedagogy exam includes floor, center, and improvisation exercises (the Professor assigns the improvisation);
Schedule of the entrance exams:
Entrance exam for Classical Ballet Pedagogy is on 24.06. at 11.00 in the hall of the New Space;
Entrance exam for Contemporary Dance and Contemporary Dance Pedagogy is on 25.06. at 11.00 in the hall of the New Space;
Entrance exam for Choreography is on 25.06. at 13.00 in the hall in the New Space;
General Knowledge Test is on 26.06. at 13.00 in room 329;
English Language Test on 26.06. at 14.00 in room 329.
In order for a candidate who has passed the entrance exam to be able to enroll at the Institute, it is necessary to bring the following documents:
Birth certificate;
Certificates from all four grades of high school (original or certified copy);
High school diploma (original or certified copy);
2 photographs measuring 3.5 x 4.5 cm;
Proof of payment of tuition.
The cost of taking the entrance exam is RSD 5,000. Payment is made before taking the entrance exam to the giro account of the Institute number: 265167031000009130; call number: JMBG candidate; Purpose of payment: Entrance exam costs.
The costs of preparatory classes are 10,000 dinars.
About Institute
Belgrade Dance Institute (Serbia) is established in 2014. The Institute offers the first accredited study programs within undergraduate and postgraduate studies that give to students the academic education in the field of highly professional artistic dance (Classical Ballet, Contemporary Dance, National Dance, and Music), Choreography and Ballet Pedagogy. The programs in the Institute are based on the contemporary concept and are run by prominent professors.
Belgrade Dance Institute organizes undergraduate and master academic studies in the field of Artistic Dance. After the completion of undergraduate studies, students are awarded the title of Drama and Audiovisual Artist, and after the completion of master studies, they are awarded the title of Drama and Audiovisual Master Artist. The Undergraduate study program comprises both compulsory and optional courses. Compulsory courses enable students to master classical and contemporary dance methods, provide a theoretical basis for students to get acquainted with the basic principles of aesthetics and psychology of art and provide basic knowledge in the field of classical and contemporary choreography. In addition to art subjects, students study both English as the compulsory foreign language and either French or Spanish as an optional foreign language, as well as subjects related to marketing, organization and management in the artistic dance that enable them to raise funds, organize, and perform stage projects in the future.
Classes comply with the most contemporary methods and with the rules of the European Commission for Checking the Quality of Higher-Education Program, which allows the Institute program to be internationally recognized, i.e. to provide further mobility to our graduates. There are two Master study programs at the Institute: Artistic Dance and Dance Performance Master Studies – Belgrade Transition Dance Company.
Master study program aim to provide students with the education at a higher academic level in the field of highly professional artistic dance and production in art and culture, as well as to train students for qualified work in cultural institutions in the field of Art Management and Artistic Production Management. Study program are aimed at improving knowledge and acquired artistic skills and methods during the undergraduate academic studies and at achieving high artistic results, and further at the processes of cultural development such as planning public cultural activities and the like.
As of the school year 2019/20, the Institute offers accredited Doctoral studies in Artistic Dance and Performance. This study program lasts three years and a student is awarded the title of Doctor of Arts – Drama and Audiovisual Arts.
The outcome of studying at the Belgrade Dance Institute is an educated student equipped with active artistic and theoretical knowledge, skills and competencies to perform both collective and individual cultural and artistic public activity.
