Deadline for applications: 27th May 2019, midnight

Following the successful international tour of They Live Next Door, London based Lithuanian Choreographer ieva Kuniskis is looking for five performers of varied ages (between 21 – 65).

We are looking for charismatic and versatile performers, who are experienced in contemporary dance and physical theatre. You should be comfortable devising in the creative process, using voice, and drawing on autobiographical details to inform the character and material. Any additional skills are welcome (i.e. singing, playing musical instrument etc)

This is the first stage of research and development for a new work, Breakfast. Breakfast draws on real life experiences of families dealing with a degenerative / terminal illness, exploring how the relationships and dynamics in the family might shift in the face of something so life affecting. We hope to share an empathetic story that explores what people go through every day – the heartache, but also humour, misunderstandings, moments of tenderness and frustrations of living every day alongside an illness.

Workshop-audition will start with a release based technique class followed by a lunch break and a creative task-based session, exploring some of the ideas within the piece.

Rehearsal Period:
1 week: 29th July – 2nd August 2019 at Kala Sangam, Bradford. Further development throughout 2019-2020 subject to funding.

£500/week plus per diems, transport and accommodation.

Application deadline:
27th May 2019, midnight. Successful applicants will be informed no later than 7th June. (Unfortunately, due to team capacity only successful applicants will be informed. If you haven’t heard from us by the deadline then we will keep your CV on file for future projects.)
