Choreographer Lore Dekeyser is looking for four Berlin-based dancers to start the creation of E-motion.

CONCEPT AND METHODOLOGY
E-motion (working-title) is a homage to Ferdinand Hodlers beautiful work Emotion/Die Heilige Stunde. Starting with a tableaux vivant, bodies as statues, the performance with fourdancers unfolds in a movement based exploration of femininity on the 5th Symphony of Johannes Brahms. What does it mean to be a woman? How can one move vulnerable and strong at the same time?
The performance is to be developed in collaboration with the selected dancers. Dance material will be collected via improvisation exercises and given choreography phrases. Active participation will be encouraged through discussion and experiments. Hodler’s concepts of parallelism and visual representation of rituals will be applied.
PRACTICAL
Professional experience and/or education is recommended but not required. Theatrical skills (being able to embody the four women’s posture in the painting) and affinity with classical music is certainly a bonus. Auditions will be held individually.
Auditions: September 30th 2022
Rehearsals: Every Thursday (or Tuesday) starting on October 13th until December 1st
Try-out/First Performance: December 4th 2022.
