Writer/Director April Atinuke Koyejo and choreographer/dancer Stefanos Dimoulas are looking for dancers (m/f) to work on a newly funded opera production ‘Ayanfe, A Yoruba Opera’ to premiere at Opera In the City Festival in London.

Where: Dance Attic, 368 North End Rd, Fulham, London SW6 1LY, UK

When: Saturday 2nd June 2018, 10am-4pm.

Deadline for applications: Midnight, Saturday 26th May

The opera infuses the Yoruba idea of “Folk Opera”, a format that emerged in Nigeria in the 1940’s, with western classical music, to tell the story of the mighty queen that saved the Ifẹ̀ people from the people of the forest. The Yoruba storytelling technique mixed with a neoclassical cast of dancers, infused with original music composed by Pierre Audiger, creates a piece of exciting operatic theatre.

• 23, 24, 25, 26, 27 July
