Audition: Multimedia research project “Braid. Narratives of Time”, Theater Dortmund, Germany.
In the frame of interdisciplinary multimedia research project choreographer Maria Pyatkova is seeking for 2 dancers (m/f) to take part in the development of choreographic approaches and performer-media interactions in a visual motion tracking setting.

In the frame of artistic residency at Akademie für Theater and Digitalität choreographer Maria Pyatkova is looking for performers to participate in development of interactive media dance piece.
The project “Braid. Narratives of Time” is dedicated to research of the nature of Time, its role and forms of conceptualization and is based on a famous computer game Braid. The interdisciplinary approach involves creating different digital settings/environments, incl. motion tracking systems, allowing performers to interact with and to “manipulate” the time flow.
This project is a research project – not a production. Further production of a theater piece is planned but is not a part of this application.

Candidates should have a background in contemporary dance, performance and improvisation and be able to research and create movement material with the strong focus on interacting with digital video projections. Experience in acting / multimedia work is a plus.

Research & rehearsal periods:

18 November – 20 December 2019
6 – 26 January 2020

additionally during this period there might be several performance/presentation opportunities

600 € per week, travel and accommodation costs are included into this amount and can not be paid separately

The Audition will take place in Akademie für Theater und Digitalität (Theaterkarree 1-3, 44137, Dortmund, Germany) on 10th November 2019. Successful candidates will be informed until 12th November.
Unfortunately, no travel costs can be reimbursed regarding participation in the audition.
