The Dancing Wheels Company is seeking dancers for the 2025/26 season.
Preferred candidates should be proficient in stylized techniques (such as ballet and modern), have a unique quality of movement, possess skills for partnering, and be able to work collaboratively and improvisationally. Candidates must be strong and athletic and willing to train in any style or genre of dance. Potential wheelchair dancers must have excellent wheelchair mobility skills.
Dancers must be able to travel to perform nationwide and internationally and work full-time. Workdays (when not on tour) are Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM–3:00 PM. The pay scale is commensurate with experience; paid holidays and vacation time are included.
The Dancing Wheels Company will audition dancers upon an advanced-arrangement, private audition basis.
The Dancing Wheels Company, America’s first professional, physically integrated dance company, is a repertory-based touring company that works with highly acclaimed choreographers each year. Most recent works include pieces by noted choreographers Alexis Diggs, Amy Hall Garner, Catherine Meredith, Tiffany Mills, Staycee Pearl, David Roussève, Laura Ann Smyth, Mark Tomasic, and internationally renowned choreographers Donald Byrd, Donald McKayle, and Dianne McIntyre. The full ensemble trains together as stand-up and sit-down (wheelchair) dancers in an equitable and accessible environment, giving equal opportunity for training and employment for all.
