French choreographer Martin Chaix seeks two female-identifying and two male-identifying dancers for the 12th edition of Le Jardin des Voix, an opera academy founded by William Christie and based in Thiré, France.

French choreographer Martin Chaix seeks two female-identifying and two male-identifying dancers for the 12th edition of Le Jardin des Voix, an opera academy in Thiré, France.

The call is for professional dancers who are a maximum of 30 years old and have experience in contemporary and classical dance technique, compositional experience, and improvisation.

Created in 2002, this biennial academy is designed to welcome young opera singers at the beginning of their careers. After two weeks of intensive work, the winners are invited to present a show that will be toured internationally. This year, the Academy will be dedicated to the preparation of the operas Les Arts Florissants and La Descente d’Orphée aux Enfers by Marc-Antoine Charpentier, staged by Marie Lambert-Le Bihan & Stéphane Facco, choreography by Martin Chaix.

Dancers need to be available for all the below dates; two rehearsal periods, shows and tours.

Travel costs, accommodation, per diem including salary will be given for the creation and performance process.
Further details will be discussed after pre-selection.
