Apply now!

Where: NOD Nuova Officina della Danza, Via Mantova 34 Torino – Italy

When: January 20 – 31 2025

Deadline for applications: As long as there is space. First come, first served.

During this 10 days session you will have the opportunity to dive into Astrid’s choreographic practice and movement methodology as well as study excerpts from her repertory.
In the first part of the workshop the emphasis is on studying the body
through introspective research, aiming to reencounter the interior space of the body and the environment the body finds itself in, from a new sensory space.
Through sensorial improvisation tasks and experiments, Astrid leads the participants through processes of self-discovery, whilst working on decision making that uses both their existing knowledge in accordance with their intuition and instinct. We will focus on inner exploration, increasing physical awareness of body and space and
encouraging to expand the overall understanding of your body, ultimately aiming to redefine what physical autonomy means for each.
The second part of the workshop consists of learning excerpts of two recent works in which we implement this movement practice and find a deeper and more layered understanding of the work as a whole.

Astrid  is a choreographer and performer based in The Netherlands.
Since 2017 she is a resident choreographer at Korzo Theatre in The Hague. She creates work with a distinctive female perspective
foregrounding the subjective connectivity as a form of resistance, together with the continuous search for personal agency.
Astrid received the BNG Bank Dance Award 2017 and Piket Art Award 2017
for her duet Rhizoma (2016). In 2020 she was named artist to watch by NRC newspaper. In 2021, she was nominated for the prestigious Prize of The Netherlands Dance Days for choreography.
