About the Andonis Foniadakis Workshop:
This workshop offers an in-depth exploration of choreography through the lens of acclaimed choreographer Andonis Foniadakis, led by long-time assistant and collaborator, Alexander Hille. Participants will delve into Foniadakis’s unique style, creative process, and choreographic techniques, gaining insights into his innovative approaches to movement, composition, and storytelling. Through a combination of theoretical study, practical exercises, and learning repertory, students will explore Foniadakis’s unique movement vocabulary, and develop new skills, while drawing inspiration from Foniadakis’s prolific body of work.
Prevalent themes include spatial dynamics, rhythm, musicality, gesture, traditional dance, and collaborative approaches to choreography. By the end of the workshop, participants will have expanded their physical and interpretive toolkit and gained a deeper understanding of the art of dance through the perspective of Andonis Foniadakis.
