Yorkshire Dance want to hear from people who would like to contribute to a festival exploring the reimagining of age through dance, 24 – 26 October 2019.

Where: Yorkshire Dance, Leeds, UK

When: 24 – 26 October 2019

Deadline for applications: Friday 14 December 2018

AGELESS is a response to the huge level of participatory work with older adults taking place across Leeds and Yorkshire, and to the interests of the local and regional dance sector. The festival aligns with Yorkshire Dance’s new Encounters weekends, through which we bring our diverse audiences together to share performance, workshops, conversation and food.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for proposals that fall under one or more of these strands:

• Research – Do you have research to share that relates to the impact of dance with older people?

• Performance – If you are an older performer, or create work with older performers, or have an interest in how we represent age in dance, let us know what you’d like to share and what you’d need in place to share it. We are keen to present a diverse range of artistic voices and practices.

• Innovation – We would like to present the most innovative artistic practice happening locally, nationally and internationally with older people. If you feel you are breaking new ground, we want to hear from you.

How to apply:

Please submit your proposal, no more than 750 words, stating which strand(s) you’d like to apply for to hannahrobertshaw@yorkshiredance.com with the subject line AGELESS Contributor Submission. Please include any relevant links or additional content to support your proposal.
