Professional Intensive summer course for dancers.

African dance is a fundamental component of jazz dance, modern contemporary dance, breakdance, Hip Hop and so on.
African culture is known for its deep knowledge of movement and rhythm and the strong connection between drumming and dance.
It is therefore a great way to discover ancient special rhythms and new ways of moving.
This summer we will be hosting a one week intensive workshop at our studio, taught by Saboula and Rachel Bangoura and their team of dance and drum artists.
Saboula is a
master drummer from Guinea West Africa, with many years experience of
teaching and touring with African drum and dance troupes on the
Rachel is a drummer and choreographer with many years experience and is the organizer of the course.
The course will run from 23/8/19 to 30/8/19.
There will be 6 full 8 hour days and 2 half days ( 23/8 & 30/8) of dance and drum practice. Saturday 24/8 will be a free day.
The course attendance fee includes
3 meals a day and accommodation if required either in our studio or in a tent in our big yard garden.
There will be an end of workshop party on the 30th with performances by the participants and our artists.
This workshop will be an opportunity for you as a dancer to diversify and enhance your muscle memory with new material and give additional color to your path as a dancer. You will learn and feel the joy of precision between movement and rhythm and you will discover the unique bond between drumming and dancing.
