360° Movement – Acrobatic Floorwork. In this workshop, we will develop tools to think the body towards the 360 degrees. We will address essential principles from contemporary dance, along with other movement techniques, in order to build a solid and comprehensive foundation for body mapping.
Various acrobatic techniques will be used to integrate multiple directions, inhabiting the space behind and utilising different levels, while fostering a multidimensional approach to movement. At the same time, we will research through various guidelines to reach states of heightened creativity in improvisation.
Weights, tones, extensions, qualities, and rhythms will be the basis of our investigation. Scenic tools will be introduced to unlock new possibilities, overcoming blockages and enhancing each individual’s unique movement potential.
The practice combines physical and technical focus with a special emphasis on creativity and improvisation. We will focus our work on individual and group processes, going through a tunnel towards the stage state, unlocking blockers, and enhancing the essential dance within each of us.
Yasmin is a freelance dancer focused on motion, acrobatics, and interdisciplinary work. She tours internationally with her 360° Movement workshop at festivals around Latin America and Europe, and continues to perform her original stage works.
