2nd edition of Wild Art Nature Camp – a dive into instant composition and dance
Where: Maguri Racatau, Romania
(40 kms south-west from Cluj Napoca)
When: 3-8 July, 2017
Registration deadline: 20th June 2017
We invite you for a 5-day long creative journey among the picturesque landscapes of Transylvanian mountains, the Valley of the Somesul Rece, into a riverside studio! Let’s enjoy, create and dance together! The workshops in Tuning Scores, Material for the Spine and creative tasks will be led by Nóra Hajós.
Nóra will introduce Steve Paxton’s Material for the Spine to physically prepare and warm-up. This material consists of diverse rolls and movements on and off the ground that engage the spinal column. We will study Helix Rolls, Ondulations and Puzzle.
In the second part of the workshop Nóra will guide the group into Tuning Scores – composition, communication and the sense of imagination in real-time composition – method developed by Lisa Nelson. An approach, developed to spontaneous ensemble composition and performance in which each player uses actions and simple verbal calls to continually “tune” (as in tuning a radio signal) the image, the time, and the space.
In the mornings yoga, in the evening tasks and space will be given for creating performative actions individually and in groups!
Dancers, performers, visual artists and passionates are welcome!
Nóra Hajós (H/USA) started her dance studies at age 4 in her native Hungary. As a young adult, she searched for open forms which led her to contact improvisation, authentic movement and postmodern dance in the USA. For the past 26 years, she has been exploring, teaching and performing. Nóra studied in-depth and danced with Steve Paxton (the originator of contact improvisation), Lisa Nelson (Tuning Scores), and Simone Forti (Logomotion).
