Choreographed by Artistic Director Davida Rae, ChoreoNova is very excited to invite dancers to join us to perform (in Pittsburgh, PA) and film (near Richmond, VA) “The Freudian Trinity,” a contemporary, contact-improvisation-based work.

ChoreoNova is a professional, award-winning contemporary dance and dance film company. We use contemporary dance works and programs to empower people. We perform regionally and produce innovative multidisciplinary and traditional works that make people feel.

We are looking for four dancers for “The Freudian Trinity” for a performance in Pittsburgh, PA and a dance film shoot near Richmond, VA. “Trinity” depicts the war for the human soul between the Id, Ego, and Superego. The work is being developed via contact improvisation.

We need dancers who can make audiences live and breathe with them. If this is you, then we look forward to hearing from you.

You must have partnering and improvisation experience and acting ability.

This is a part-time project. This is NOT a full-time contract and does NOT include relocation assistance or travel to VA. VA-based dancers preferred. U.S. dancers only, please.

Id: male preferred, height 5’5” to 6’1”
Role is very contemporary in nature and includes modern (flying low), break dance, and jazz.

Ego: female preferred, height 5’0” to 6’1”
Role includes modern and jazz and requires really good hip flexibility.

Superego: female or male, height 5’0” to 6’1”
Role includes modern and jazz.

Superego alter: female, height 5’0” to 6’1”
Role includes ballet and modern.

Expected 80 hours of rehearsal in either Charlottesville or Richmond, VA, eight hours/week, 16 hours final week, schedule TBD, July-August

Performance August or September in Pittsburgh, PA. Travel and accommodations will be provided.

Two-day film shoot in September on-location near Richmond, VA

You will receive professional film and images for your reel. Pay possible, dependent on performance receipts.
