• 12:45pm-3:00pm Spend the afternoon in a choreographic workshop with Kai Hazelwood with live music. The workshop will also serve as an audition for future paid projects with Kai Hazelwood in LA and abroad. Kai will be returning from 3 weeks as a resident choreographer at Omi Dance International Dance Collective in New York and will be continuing to develop work she begins there. Over the course of 2 afternoons you will participate in a collaborative process to finish a new short piece. The work will be performed along side pieces from choreographers from across LA at the end of the second day as part of Dance in Progress, a new choreographers’ showcase. Expect a physical, highly collaborative process where you will be challenged to bring your own artistic voice, and dive deep into playful improvisational structures.
