The Africa Centre and Impact Dance partner up to programme a brand new Youth Dance Stage as part of the annual Summer Festival. We are seeking 20 exciting youth dance companies to perform at this year’s Summer Festival but the Africa Centre on the brand new Youth Dance Stage on Saturday 18 August.

Where: Southwark near the Africa Centre’s home at 66 Great Suffolk Street, London SE1 0BL, UK

When: Saturday 18 August

Deadline for applications: Friday 6 July at 5pm

We are welcoming the following genres:
Hip Hop, Street dance, Dance from Africa and the African diaspora, or dance that fuses one or more of these styles.

In selecting youth companies to perform, we will prioritise quality and originality.

Pieces must be no longer than 5 mins in length, with a maximum of 15 performers

Performers must be no younger than 10 years of age and no older than 18.

Companies will perform on stage in an outdoor street setting in Southwark near the Africa Centre’s home at 66 Great Suffolk Street, London SE1 0BL.

Please note that pieces including profanity or explicit language will not be selected.

Minimal props are allowed with prior agreement, but no stage sets.
