Open Call for a Research Laboratory Move The Public Space. Free for participants.

Where: Tilburg, Netherlands

When: Monday 14 May – Sunday 20 May / Time: 11.00 – 18.00

Deadline for applications: 10/05

How do we create/compose movement in public space, inspired by it?
This lab aims to explore how we can intervene in public space, how we can invite people passing by, and how we can transform public space into a playground. We will work in public spaces of Tilburg, Our main question for this intervention is: How can we transform Performative structures into Game structures?
This lab is part of a larger research on movement in public spaces, conducted within the framework of the Postgraduate Program “Performing Public Space” at Fontys University, Tilburg, Netherlands. This laboratory is the last cycle within the frame of this Master program. There will be a presentation day, but we considerthis work as an ongoing process, constantly growing through combining practice and theory.

The lab will contain:
1. Work inside the studio
2. Work in public space,
3. Feedback Discussion.

We will work a lot outside, exposed to the weather conditions, therefore it is important for participants to have a strong motivation to work in public spaces.
Participants that travel from abroad will need to cover their own expenses.
The call is addressed to people involved in artistic creation through movement and body (dancers, choreographers, actors, performers) and they are interested in movement experimentation in public spaces.
