Dance to Health is a pioneering nationwide falls prevention dance programme for older people. Combining evidence and physiotherapy with the creativity, expression and energy of dance it reduces the risk of an older person suffering a fall.
NDCWales is excited to be partnering with Aesop, Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board and Arts Care Gofal Celf on a Dance to Health, Falls Prevention Programme in Neath, Port Talbot, Swansea, Bridgend and Carmarthenshire, starting in October 2017.
NDCWales is recruiting 3 types of dance artists:
One Lead Dance Artist will be responsible for the artistic co-ordination of programmes. They will receive full training and will be responsible for quality assurance of each programme – £250 per day, approx. 35 days over 1 year.
2 – 3 Dance Artists. The Dance Artist will receive full-training and be responsible for leading the sessions – £150 per day, approx. 37 – 55 days over 1 year.
2 – 3 Assistant Dance Artists. The Assistant Dance Artist will assist the Dance Artist and ensure that monitoring data is taken at each session. The Assistant Dance Artist will receive training from the rest of the dance team – £100 per day, approx. 30 – 45 days over 1 year.

Lead Dance Artist and Dance Artists must be available on the following dates for Later Life/FAME and Otago training, which is accredited through additional online homework (approx., 100 hours before November 2017, 14 hours of which must be completed before the 1st training session):
21st and 22nd September, 5th and 6th October, either 14th , 15th or 16th November for final course assessments (tbc).
