Greensboro Dance Film Festival is a boutique dance film festival seek seeking to connect diverse populations and environments through the innovative genre of dance on screen. Merging performance and cinematic aesthetics Screendance has expanded the possibilities of choreographic composition and structure pushing the boundaries of dance beyond its staged possibilities. GDFF is in its fourth year and features dance films from around the world in both student and professional categories. This year the festival is particularly interested in films that address themes that explore notions of race, place and identity created through the prism of film. Artists in all disciplines of screen dance are encouraged to apply. This year the festival will be presented in multiple venues which include a live opening performance and party, a collaboration with the NC Dance Project outreach programs and the Greensboro Performance Space. The 2017 Festival Programming will also be part of the 17 Days Events in Downtown Greensboro. Audience selections will also participate in the 4th annual In/Out Dance Festival in Burkina Faso, WA in 2018. This event is free and open to the public.
