Open Call for dancers

Pre-Audition/Workshop for the project D NO BODY 5

Company: DIVEinD

When: 3rd and 4th of December 2016

Where: Rotterdam, the Netherlands

Deadline for application: 18th of November 2016

DIVEinD and choreographer Dario Tortorelli are looking for dancers with a strong stage presence for their upcoming performance D NO BODY 5

About the project: In 2015 Dario Tortorelli started D NO BODY, a series of solo performances/installations with the objective to create the ideal self through the influence of another. Society often pushes us to conform to conventions without knowing or questioning our real identity. The first three chapters of this series refer to icons, pop culture, surrealism, fashion, the holy and the sacred.

With D NO BODY 5, Dario wants to explore new ways of representing an image by abstracting the body. Can we omit the body in a physical performance? Dario wants to evoke the feeling of presence in a performance that is as effective as if the body was present, even though it is physically removed from our sight.

What we are looking for: open minded people, able to visualise and project their body in space, that can move from the inside out, attentive to details and can make the invisible movements appear.

No gender or dance background restriction. Female, male, cross gender, transgender … urban, ballet, modern, musical, mime, physical theatre, vogue …

Send us a short motivation letter, a CV (1 page max.) with contact info, a picture and a short video presentation of yourself (highly recommended) before the 18th of November 2016 to info@diveind.com
